A good read even though the author identifies the killer team near the beginning and then follows their murderous actions while the police - English detectives Thorne and Tanner - try to get clues to catch them. The author is intent on letting readers know why such murders take place. I got a bit tired of reading about that and about the couple's fierce lovemaking. Perhaps the author's inspiration for the topic of this book - madness of love - came from the real life experiences described in Dr. Frank Tallis' book, "The Incurable Romantic". There really is little tension in the book just bec the readers know already who the killers are and know that eventually the police team will catch them. I guess it was my curiosity about how the author would arrange their arrest that kept me reading. Followers of this Thorne and Tanner series may be interested in the developments of their personal lives, but those pages in this book I just skipped over - for me just fill. The author writes well so I'll read more of his books in this series.
