This is such a good book!!!, The first time I read it I was into a whole other type of books, and I could not get through the whole book without starting to read another book. But the second time around I was older, and more into these types of books, and I really enjoyed it. I think one of the reasons that it was a little harder for me to get hooked on the book, was because I was a little young to grasp the concept and to fully understand what was happening in the book. Overall, I think this just and AMAZING book!!.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Wren is out of control and she is sent to wilderness camp as a last resort by her parents. Throughout the book you get a look at what led to her out of control ways and how she is now coping at the wilderness camp. I was rooting for Wren almost from the start. I loved all the other characters as well and the ending left me with happy tears and a hopeful heart. I would recommend this for 6th grade and up.

This is such a good book! Wren has a lot of stuff happening in her life, and she changes a lot. However, I would like to see Nico(the drug-dealing kid) do more. Maybe he could come rescue and break out of police custody? Wren would turn down the help and then call the people who keep her there. I like it when they talked about her earlier life. It felt nice to have one chapter here or there dedicated to her life in L. A.

An inspiring story about a young teen headed in the wrong direction who manages to turn her life around.

Great realistic fiction fit for parents understanding teens behind the scenes and for teens opening their eyes to the realities of a life controlled by drugs. Fabulous read. Gripping. Wished it kept going! :)

Completely breathtaking, from start to finish. I was carried with her through all of her frustrations and my spirit soared with her triumphs. The last line gave me CHILLS. Beautiful, inspiring, freeing!

Eight weeks of survivalist camping in the desert to turn your life around? The power of nature to transform? Feel like you might have read this one before? Not from this author! Award winning author, Wendelin Van Draanen, presents this delightfully readable yet extraordinarily insightful story of 14-year- old, Wren, whose life has slipped into total disaster one small step at a time. Unable to connect with any aspect of her former life, she is forced into a heartbreaking reckoning with herself about who she really was and who she really wants to be.

I discovered this book by chance, liked the premise, and checked it out on a whim.
All I can really say is wow.
I’ve read a few of Wendy Van Draanen’s works, but this is the first one I’ve truly enjoyed. I loved Wren, her friends and family, and the way the background was revealed bit by bit as Wren seemed to become more comfortable. I read this book in one sitting (it’s just long enough) and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good read.
