Add a CommentThis story was a page turner and much better than the movie, especially the ending.
Far superior to the film. Scorsese whines about superhero films not being art...isn't "The Departed" based on a manga or something?
Blockbuster in its pacing and twists of revelation. A fast read, and strong in its genre.
An asylum for the criminally insane, a missing patient, a U. S. Marshall, and a "dark and stormy night" add up to heart-pounding suspense.
Excellent. Secret government conspiracy. Paranoia. Who dunnit? Addictive gruesome fun. World Gone Mad, y'all
Well written and suspenseful. I can usually see "twists" coming a mile away but did not predict this one.
Very well crafted. Even if I saw the movie (twice), the intrigue was still there and kept me on my toes till the very end.
Haven't seen the movie, but this was pretty good. There's not much I can say without spoiling the plot, but if you like thrills and twists this is worth a try.
The twists and turns in this novel will leave you intrigued and amazed as well as keenly aware that things may not always be what they seem.
I love Dennis Lehane, but I found this book boring and stopped at page 28. Too wordy.
