A wickedly funny novel from the bestselling author of The First Wives Club, Goldsmith's new book tells the story of five authors, five novels, one publisher... and only one bestseller. From ruthless publisher Gerald Ochs Davis (aka GOD) to first-time novelists to hard-bitten editors, has-been writers and outrageous agents -- every one of them wants to be part of a bestseller. Unfortunately there can only be one, and in The Bestseller, bestselling author Olivia Goldsmith knows where the bodies are buried and the stories they could tell.A likely bestseller...a meaty sendup of publishing told with intelligence, wit, and shameless enthusiasm. -- Kirkus Reviews

couldn't get into it. Only read a chapter

At the beginning I thought this book was going to be a collection of individual short stories (which I don't care much for). But as I kept on reading, all the different characters began converging on a principal theme. I really enjoyed this book and the way it trully protrayed the way very different people think, act, and are.
